The efficient synthesis of functionalized aliphatic polyesters bearing abundant negatively charged groups and the preparation of corresponding negatively charged nanoparticles attract great interest in drug delivery for their great potential in targeting the tumor sites more efficiently [1].Nevertheless, the major strategy to synthesize anionic functionalized polyesters is the synthesis and subsequent polymerization of functional groups substituted monomers, which suffers greatly from various drawbacks such as complex and multistep reactions, long reaction time and low overall yield [2].Moreover, the content of anions is lower than 20 mol % and hard to control due to the low polymerization activity of functionalized monomers [3].
