Forest trees are extremely important both for economic and ecological reasons.However, the genetic architecture of complex traits underlying tree growth and development has not well been understood, hindering the development of fast-growing tree varieties through molecular breeding.Here, we identified a pool of genetic loci associated with stem height and diameter growth trajectories in a forest tree-poplar-by scanning the whole Populus genome.
