光纤损耗是光纤传输质量的重要标志。探讨了光纤在连接中产生损耗的内部因素以及外部因素。主要分析了诸如横向偏差、角度偏差、间隙等外部因素对连接质量的影响,通过研究光纤连接损耗的机理,给出光纤的纵向连接、横向连接、倾角偏移与损耗之间的曲线,指出了减少光纤连接损耗的途径。还介绍了目前在技术上实现光纤连接的两个基本方法:直接熔接法和利用光纤连接器法,探讨了采用直接熔接法对光纤进行永久性连接时应注意的一些问题,以及光纤连接器法的关键技术。
