CSA (calcium sulfoaluminate) cement has been developed mainly from three types of compounds: calcium oxide, aluminum oxide and sulfur oxide. Some typical raw materials used for this kind of cement are calcium carbonate, bauxite, and gypsum. This low-energy cement represents an eco-friendly alternative to ordinary Portland cement production with lower levels of CO2.It requires fewer raw materials with high limestone content resulting, therefore, in a reduction in CO2 coming from the decarbonation process.
