Detrital zircon U-Pb geochronology analysis is a powerful tool to trace sedimentary system,explore the mountain uplift and denudation processes,reconstruct palaeogeographic pattern and reveal the evolution of mountain-basin coupling (Bruguier et al.,1997;Bodet and Scharer,2000;Richards et al.,2005;Weislogel,2010;Yang,2006;Li,2010;Li,2013).In this paper,four middle-late Triassic sandstone samples are selected from the outcrop in Tongchuan area,south Ordos Basin (Table.1).Detrital zircons are collected and carried out by Laser-Ablation Inductivity Couple Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICPMS) at the State Key Laboratory of Continental Dynamics,Northwest University (Xian).301 single detrital zircon grains are analyzed from these samples in total,and 272grains (<±10 %discordance) are selected for the final interpretation.
