There are thick shales and rich shale gas in Longmaxi Formation in the northeast of the Yunnan province,so it is important to research its reservoir pores for shale gas exploration.Different-scaled pore test methods were used for shale pore measurement in the study.The mercury injection experiments indicate that transition pores and micropores are developed in Longmaxi shale at the study area.N2 adsorption experiments show that pores with their diameter under 20nm are well developed and average pore size is distributed in the range of 3.256~4.367nm under the BJH pore model.CO2 adsorption experiments make clear that pores with their diameters of within 0.3~0.4nm and 0.5~0.6nm are well developed under DFT model analysis.Consequently,the Longmaxi shale is rich in both transition pores and micropores at the study area,especially those pores with their diameter of within 0.3~0.4nm and 0.5~0.6nm,so the shales have a large amount of pores for gas accumulation.
