A research of the influence of tensile and compressive preloading on the high velocity impact behavior of the composite panel was conducted.With the explicit FE method and taking the intralaminar fiber/matrix cracking damage and inteflaminar damage into consideration, 3D Hashin failure criteria and Quads intralaminar damage criterion were introduced to establish the numerical model, and the high velocity impact response of pre-stressed composite panel was subsequently studied with variable impact energies involved.
