Scintillating crystal is one of the most important particle detector materials,while the spatial,temporal or energy information of the particles are probed generally by detecting the photons induced by the particles.The information is precious for both nuclear and material physics.The CsI(Tl) scintillating crystals have the advantages of high light output,little afterglow,sufficient stopping power (ρ=4.51 g/cm3),large detection area,and low cost.They provide an effective technology for detecting charged particles [1-7].Here,we report spectra components and mechanism studies of the fluorescence emission,and the detection of beam profile and the Bragg peak position induced by highenergy Carbon ions.
