Medical materials and devices market continues to grow worldwide.In 2012,US,European Union and Japan led in global sales,followed by China.Polymeric materials are very important in biomaterials,and Polymeric biomaterials market will grow by 15%-30% per year in 21st century.To maintain the development of polymeric biomaterials and medical devices,the opportunity and challenge for these materials need to be analysed.Bacteria repellent and antibacterial polymeric biomaterials,plasticizer free polymeric biomaterials,irradiation resistant polymeric biomaterials are taken as examples to demonstrate the success of University-Industry Research.
