This paper aimed at concentrating lycopene from the extracts by solvent resistant nanofiltration membranes.Three membranes have been used: Starmem 122,Starmem 240 and Duramem 300.The performance of a given membrane is determined by two parameters: rejection and permeation rate.The characters of the membranes before and after nanofiltration had been demonstrated by SEM and FTIR.In this study,Starmem 240 showed promising performance for concentrating lycopene while the concentration increased to 2-3 times higher than the feed.The rejection was about 98.62%.A decrease of permeability was observed because of the contamination which would be solved by being dipped in petroleum with ultrasonic.The permeate solvent can be reused thus bringing additional economical benefits and environment protection.Based on the SEM and FTIR,Starmem 240 membrane was quite stable after the permeation.
