Background and objective Colonic dysmotility is very common in diabetic patients.However, the mechanisms are only partially understood.The role of myopathy has gained significance over the past years, and several studies have explored the possibility that there are also defects in gastrointestinal smooth muscle itself during development of the diabetic state.The RhoA/ROCK pathway has been reported to be involved in a wide variety of pathological states.
