Psychosocial stress in pregnancy increases the incidence of preterm birth and low birth weight.Pregnancy complications such as hyperemesis, hypertension and pre-eclampsia are associated with pregnancy stress.There is a need for scientifically tested interventions for the reduction of prenatal maternal stress.The effectiveness of the M.O.M.S.tm program at decreasing prenatal maternal anxiety and building coping skills for increased family fitness and resiliency of military families is the focus of this study.
