  Fusarium wilt, caused by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubense (Foc), is the lethal disease for banana.The pathogen attacks banana roots, colonizes and occludes the xylem vessels,disrupts water translocation and causes the typical wilt symptoms.Diseased banana plants eventually died,thereby reducing yields in affected fields.This disease is the most challenging issue face the banana industry in the world.Understanding of the host resistance would be very useful towards the development of Fusarium wilt resistant banana varieties, which is the most economical and environmental friendly approach to control the Foc harms disease.In this connection, we evaluated two banana varieties for resistance to Fusarium wilt.
