The relationship between sulfa medications retain value of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and the numbers of functional groups in its molecular are discussed.With the results from reciprocal of retain value is the best.Using 15 parameters, the equation 1 is obtainned ,complex correlation coefficient R =0.9980, R2 =0.9960, F =98.869, fitting effect is remarkable.Equation 1 get in the predicted with nine and literature of residual value of zero, the rest of the residual were less than 0.037.The parameters reduced to 13 get equation 2, R =0.9946, residual of the predicted value of 16 medications with literature is less than 0.015.The parameters of the further reduce to 8, the equation 3 get R =0.9355.The predicted values and the reference value is still very close, but there are also four kinds have great difference.
