Noble metal nanoparticles are promising due to their unique properties,such as their localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR),which can be modified via tailoring of size and shape,and many other features.1 The intense local electric field near the surface of a metal nanoparticle generated via LSPR has been utilized in various research fields,including water-splitting,surface-enhanced Raman scattering,etc.The intense local electric field could presumably be used to catalyze reactions on semiconductor surfaces that involve charge generation,which could open new mechanistic pathways,and novel surface functionalization strategies.
