Background: There are more studies on association between the 5-HT1A receptor gene polymorphism and suicide, but the results of the studies are difference.This study collected all researches about association of 5-HT1A receptor gene polymorphism and suicidal behaviour and objectively evaluated their association in population with Meta-analysis.It provided Evidence-based medical evidence of suicide acts in genetic background.Methods: Search was conducted on the following electronic databases: PubMed, Cochorane, CNKI and Wanfang Database to identify all the relevant case-control trials.Statistical analysis was performed with RevMan5.0 investigate heterogeneity, including heterogeneity, and the effect of inspection appraisal publication bias.Results: A total of 6 articles were included after the analysis of qualified.As is said in the literature of the research, suicide includes suicide attempters and suicide completers.Overall the results of suicide genotype Meta analysis are listed as follows: OR=1.27, 95%Cl=0.93-1.74, P>0.05, suicide allele are OR=1.15, 95 %Cl=0.91-1.45, P>0.05; The results of suicide attempters genotype Meta analysis are listed as follows: OR=1.12, 95 %Cl=0.84-1.49, P>0.05, suicide attempters allele are OR=1.04, 95 %Cl=0.87-1.24, P>0.05; The results of suicide completers genotype Meta analysis are listed as follows: OR=1.53, 95%Cl=1.10-2.14, P=0.01, suicide completers allele are OR=1.57, 95 %Cl=0.66-3.71, P>0.05.Conclusion: Meta analysis results show that the 5-HT1A receptor gene rs6295 genotypes are not associated with suicide but associated with suicide completers.
