Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) is one of the most economically significant swine diseases.The porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) causes reproductive failure in sows and respiratory disease in pigs of all ages.Recently,full length infectious cDNA clones have been developed to identify the virulence factors and to study pathogenic mechanisms associated with the virus.Here,a field strain of PRRSV was isolated and identified as a highly virulent PRRSV variant named SDA2.The complete genome of SDA2 was sequenced and deposited in GenBank under accession no.JX878379.
