Diagnostic leaching is a technique used in gold ore processing to determine the gold deportment of an ore, i.e.the distribution of gold between the different mineral phases composing the ore (Lorenzen,1995).In the case of a complex gold ore including several sulfides, often referred to as "refractory"because of its low gold recovery, knowledge of this distribution can be used to optimize the process.
