  Land reclamation projects have been undertaken in many Asian countries in the past decades.These projects face a number of challenges such as reclamation in deeper water,lack of granular fill materials,the need to treat ultra-soft or contaminated sediments as part of the land reclamation,and increased environmental constraints.In this paper,a series of innovations are discussed with reference to specific projects.A new reclamation concept NEUSPACE is also briefly presented.
