  Shape-memory polymers(SMPs)are an important class of soft materials due to their broad stimuli responsiveness,light weight,biological compatibility,and mechanical robustness.They can normally be described as molecularly integrated designs wherein the responsive switch and restoring net points coexist within a single macromolecule.While this design has proven tremendously useful in a wide range of thermally-activated SMPs,it is also artificially limiting from a technological standpoint due to the challenges and cost of the chemical synthesis required to generate designer materials.
