RFB (Rigid Frame Bridge) was one of the most common long-span bridge types used in mountains.Consolidation between girder and piers was the feature of RFB,which had lots of advantages such as eliminating the use of large tonnage bearings,convenient construction and maintenance.However,this type of connection made it difficult to release seismic longitudinal displacement between girder and piers.As a result,seismic effects of piers and foundation were fairly enlarged.
