Unani System is one of the traditional systems of medicines like Traditional Chinese Medicine,Ayurveda,Siddha,Homoeopathy and many others.Unani System of medicine is based on many cultures.It has traditional medical knowledge of Greece,Rome,Iran,Arab world,India and even China.Presently Unani Medicine is being practiced in India,more than in any other part of the world.Government of India has recognized the Unani System of Medicine as one of the important part of Indian System of medicines.There is a separate department dealing with traditional systems as Department of AYUSH,Ministry of health,Government of India.AYUSH stands for Ayurveda,Unani,Siddha and homoeopathic systems of medicines.These are the main traditional systems of medicines being practiced in India.
