We review advances in the monitoring of gully erosion,finding that there are few existing studies on the dynamic monitoring of gully erosion at different spatial and temporal scales.Here,high resolution images from Quick Bird in 2006,and airphotos in 1982,are analysed along with GPS data collected before and after the rainy season.A typical gully,located in Shagou River,Gonghe Basin,Qinghai Province,China,was a change detection over the past 20 years and at seasonal timescales using GIS software.
