VHG (Very high gravity) ethanol fermentation was developed in the 1990s to achieve ethanol concentrations more than 15% (v/v)[1].Due to its advantage of saving energy consumption in downstream processes like distillation and the multi-evaporation for the waste distillage treatment, the VHG fermentation, is now garnering more and more attentions.
