Cyclopeptide alkaloids in Zizyphus jujuba are important active components which have sedative and hypnotic effects.Due to their low amount, little work on the analysis of cyclopeptide alkaloids has been done.In this paper, the crude extract of Zizyphus jujuba was first analyzed on a Click β-CD column with hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) method.Cyclopeptide alkaloids were eluted in the first five minutes possibly due to their weak polarities and big ring structures (Fig.1A), while flavonoid glycosides and saponins in Zizyphus jujuba showed good retention under HILIC mode.
