Aims and Objectives: For prostate cancer treatment, seed implantation was used as a boost prior to external beam radiation to escalate the dose and shorten the treatment time.All patients received seed implantation prior to external beam radiation.Materials and Methods: Over a decade, 603 patients with stage T1-T3a prostate cancer were treated with brachytherapy followed by external beam radiation.410 patients (68%) were treated using palladium.193 patients (32%) received iodine.All patients received bracytherapy 4 weeks before starting external radiation.4,500 centigray was prescribed in 25 fractions over 35 elapsed days.
