Myocarditis remains a poorly understood entity in cardiology and is the end result of both myocardial infection or autoimmunity that leads to acute inflammatory destruction ofmyocytes.It may present with variable clinical characteristics and outcome through different mechanisms.Currently no single clinical or imaging finding could be diagnostic of myocarditis.Rather an integrated approach including clinical presentations and non invasive testing are used to diagnose the disease and guide treatment.Novel imaging technique including cardiac magnetic resonance imaging is promising in helping clinicians to make proper diagnosis.
