Ammonia borane (NH3BH3) has been attracted by many researchers because of its high hydrogen content of 19.6 wt.% for chemical hydrogen storage applications. In this study, the mesoporous silica supported Pt nanoparticles as catalysts for hydrogen generation from aqueous solution of ammonia borane (NH3BH3) at various temperatures have been synthesized.First, the ordered mesoporous silica MCM41,and the amorphous silica aerogel (SAG) were prepared by the sol-gel process with a surfactant and an ionic liquid as template, respectively.
