Diabetes is a global public health problem and about 90% of which is type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).To better understand the pathogenesis and potential therapeutic target, the animal models of T2DM are needed.During our research of inbreeding Mongolian gerbil, we fortunately found that a subline of inbred gerbil with relatively higher blood glucose and the ratio of the animal in this subline is relatively high (21.33%).
