While word classes has long been a hard nut to crack in modern Chinese grammar,word class labeling has in recent years become a major concern in Chinese and Chinese-English lexicography,which affects the macrostructure and microstructure of the dictionaries.However,due to its thorny nature,word class labeling did not come true in the most authoritative Contemporary Chinese Dictionary until its fifth edition published in 2005,whereas in Chinese-English Dictionary until its third edition published in 2010.
