The long-term survival of lung cancer patients treated with conventional therapies remains poor and has changed little in decades.The need for novel approaches remains high and delivery of genes via aerosol holds promise for the treatment of a broad spectrum of pulmonary disorders and offers numerous advantages over more invasive modes of delivery.In this study lentivirus-vector designed in previous study was used for aerosol delivery.The effects of CTMP on Akt-related proteins and cell cycle regulation were investigated.Lentiviral based-CTMP was delivered into K-rasLA1 lung cancer model mice through the nose-only inhalation system twice a week for total 4 weeks.Long-term repeated delivery of lentiviral-based CTMP suppressed lung tumor progression significantly through inhibiting Akt-related signals and cell-cycle.Together, our results suggest that repeated delivery of CTMP may be a promising approach for lung cancer treatment and prevention in the future.This work was supported by the Korea Science and Engineering Foundation grant funded by the Korea government (M10534040001-08N340400110 and M20702000006-08N0200-00610).
