The polymer-stabilized blue-phase LCD (BP-LCD) draws everyone’s attention because of its submillisecond response time reducing motion-image blurs,isotropic dark state leading to a wide and symmetric viewing angle,no need for alignment layers simplifying the fabrication processes,and cell-gap insensitivity contributing to the fabrication of large-screen or single-substrate LCDs.In this talk,we will report the work principle of the BPLCD and our recent progresses on device design of BPLCD.
