The Yargiyan kooli（Chinese:Mǎnzhōu Shaù满洲实录）is a work commissioned in 1779 by the Qiánlong emperor that was ostensibly copied from an earlier 1635 manuscript.The 1779 manuscript was in three languages,Manchu,Chinese and Mongolian,and contained illustrations.Records from the time indicate that the Qiánlóng emperor had three copies of the work made,one to be placed in the palace in Mukden (Shěnyáng),one to be placed in the Imperial Study in Beijing and one for his own use to be placed in the imperial retreat at Rehe.Two of these manuscripts have survived to the present day,the Rehe manuscript is lost.However,there is another version of this manuscript that was discovered in Mukden (Shěnyáng),that has no illustrations and is written in only Manchu and Chinese.There is no record as to where this manuscript comes from.A recent photo-reproduction of the manuscript was published by Liaoning Scholastic Publishing Company,allowing us to compare this manuscript with the extant trilingual editions.Though nearly identical in many respects to the trilingual manuscripts,a comparison of spellings and punctuation between the bilingual and trilingual editions reveal some interesting differences that may provide more evidence to consider when determining the dating of the manuscripts and possible antecedents.
