20世纪80年代以来,教师专业发展作为教师专业化的方向和主题己成为国际教师教育改革的趋势,幼儿教师作为教师群体的一部分,面对改革的浪潮,面对日新月异的变化,也必须扎根幼儿园,立足具体的教育实践,并以此为基础发展自己、提高自己、超越自己,才能使自身立于不败之地。但是,我国目前现状而言,幼儿教师的素质普遍较低,这不排除社会认同、社会制度等社会因素没有给幼儿教师的专业成长提供有利的环境。
