营山县骆市区双溪乡六村十一组“鱼状元”孙体荣,1982年承包本组一口面积3.5亩的平塘养鱼,1983～1985年产鱼4.100多斤,收入3.690元。今年可捕鱼1.800斤,收入1,400余元,他养鱼的经验是: 一、抓住季节,肥水下鱼。他说,适当早放鱼种有两个好处,一是水温低,鱼种损伤小;二是鱼儿早开食,以此促“早长”。为做到早放有鱼种,他利用房前的鸡喙地整修了一口培育池,每年十月从水库购回成套鱼种,投喂豆浆、面粉培育,次年初春放鱼入塘。鱼种入塘前,施农家肥37担,并亩用生石灰30斤溶于水泼洒塘底、四周,杀灭病菌与敌害生物。为鱼儿少病、喜食奠定了高产基础。
