Participants were 14 to 23-month-old infants who received 3 doses of DTP and 2 doses of oral polio vaccine (OPV) at 1 year of age and had no contraindications to measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, DTP and OPV . The infants were randomly divided into two groups. The test group (405) received MMR vaccine, DTP and OPV on day 0, DTP placebo (sterile saline) and OPV placebo (sterile cell culture) on day 60. The control group (410) received MMR vaccine, DTP placebo and OPV placebo on day 0 and DTP and OPV on day 60.
