Herman Matten, among hundreds of different scale projects designed in 1926-1970 and a highly influential teacher, is among the most prominent representatives of the German landscape architecture industry in the 20th century The column. The information presented here is an ongoing part of my research on Matt's PhD dissertation. It aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the modernist tide of 20th century German landscape architecture. I challenge this, showing a gradual rather than a clichéd conclusion of thinking, thereby creating a more inclusive view of his design work and written treatise together as a proof of his knowledge, The classic scientific theory of theory to be rejected.
