This study investigated the effects of calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) on the function of murine intestinal aggregated lymph node (PP) T cells and mouse peritoneal macrophages. The results showed that: CGRP can significantly inhibit the transformation of PP T lymphocytes, and this effect has a clear relationship with the differentiation and proliferation status of T cells. In addition CGRP peritoneal macrophages DNA and protein synthesis also significantly inhibited. The above results suggest that CCRP may play an important regulatory role in intestinal immune function as an inhibitory neuroendocrine immunomodulatory peptide.
