Tumor suppressor genes such as p53, Rb, p16, and nm23 are involved in the regulation of apoptosis in a variety of cells such as tumor cells. They have both a single regulatory role and a complex synergistic effect. Studying the regulatory mechanisms of these genes in cell apoptosis has important implications for the use of gene therapy technology for the treatment of malignant tumors.
