This paper analyzes the representative theories of intellectuals such as Kant, Julian Benda and Sayyed and argues that in the face of eternal contradictions, pessimistic or optimistic, intellectuals’ reverence of universal value reflects the limitations of reality The “inhibition.” This “suppression” is exactly the most important and most realistic value that intellectuals have in the historical process of human society.
