油橄榄优良实生单株钟山24系从阿斯品种(Ascolano)的自由受粉种子的实生苗中选出。我所于1970年春,从江苏省植物研究所引入1年生扦插苗6株和少数插条,经过繁殖、培育和选择,于1972年初选出表现较好的43株进行定植,1974年始花,1975年结果。9年来,通过观察和鉴定,表明它具有生长旺盛、适应性强(尤其是抗寒性强)结实早、增产潜力大等优良特性。现已成为我省推广发展的优良单株之一。一、形态特征钟山24树冠紧凑,具有小冠型的外部形态。树体大小中等,树势旺盛,枝叶茂密,发枝能力强,枝条开张成45°角,树冠中下部枝条在开花结果后易下垂,使树形成扁圆筒形;
