The term “skyscraper” appeared at the time of the construction of the tallest tall building in New York at the beginning of the 20th century - the Woolworth Building. From today's perspective, the skyscraper is not only a 20th-century American-style product, but also a symbol of technological progress, capital concentration, consumer society and liberal politics.
