角跟踪雷达通常采用的方法是单脉冲和圆锥扫描。单脉冲系统原则上可以消除目标信号振幅起伏的影响,但一般需要三个接收通道。另一方面,圆锥扫描系统却只需一个接收通道,可是这种系统受目标信号振幅起伏影响。本文介绍和分析了一种叫做圆锥单脉冲(Conopulse)的混合系统,这种系统只需要二个接收通道,而且又能消除目标信号振幅起伏的影响。圆锥单脉冲系统中的信号处理既采用圆锥扫描技术,又采用单脉冲方法。圆锥单脉冲的主要优点是既能象单脉冲那样避免了由于目标起伏而引起的角误差,又只需要比单脉冲少的接收通道。其主要缺点是数据率较低以及与天线馈源有关的一些实际问题。圆锥单脉冲的天线馈源与圆锥扫描类似,但更为复杂。
The methods commonly used for angle tracking radars are single pulse and cone scanning. In principle, a single-pulse system can eliminate the effects of amplitude fluctuations of the target signal, but typically requires three receive channels. On the other hand, the conical scanning system only needs one receiving channel, but this system is affected by the fluctuation of the target signal amplitude. This article describes and analyzes a hybrid system called Conopulse that requires only two receive channels and eliminates the effects of amplitude fluctuations of the target signal. The signal processing in conical single pulse system uses both conical scanning technology and single pulse method. The main advantage of a conical monopulse is that it avoids both angular errors due to the target fluctuation as well as a single pulse, and requires fewer receive channels than a single pulse. The main drawback is the low data rate and some practical issues related to the antenna feed. The conical monopulse antenna feed is similar to the cone scan, but more complex.
