Wu Mingyi’s novel “Eye Complex” combines two main themes of “Natural Writing” and “Ocean Writing”. The novel criticizes the predatory maritime awareness and the behavior and logic of profit-seeking of the oceans, denying the dualism of “ocean-land” duality and the superiority of marine civilization to land civilization in the view of ecological holism; In combination with social observation, we can understand and understand the ocean issue in the social and cultural holistic view. Therefore, we can conclude that there are all kinds of environmental pollution and that the solution to the problem should be the common understanding and commitment of the entire society. The ethics of “One Sea and One Land” and the “Ethics of Appropriate Access” have the profound origin of Chinese traditional culture. They are often reflected in the marine literature in Taiwan and also have profound implications for us.
