达成铁路遂宁涪江特大桥自1992年10月开工建造,至1994年9月,141个墩台已建成,5孔64米下承式栓焊钢梁已拼架完毕,只待架设其它厂制预应力混凝土梁和铺轨了。如今,一座飞跨涪江东西的长龙已屹立在遂宁市城北。这是继宝成铁路绵阳涪江大桥之后,涪江上建造的第二座铁路桥。 本桥位于达成线中段,在遂宁市城北约5公里处跨涪江。桥址处主河槽宽约1.2公里,枯水期水面宽约100米。全桥由133孔32米的预应力混凝土梁,2孔24米的预应力混凝土梁及5孔64米下承式栓焊钢桁梁组成。桥全长4738.55米,共有墩台
