In late July we had a long-expected tour of Lhasa,capital of Tibet.The first place to visit was of course the Potala Palace,the symbol of the city.rnThe Potala,at an elevation of 3,763 meters above sea level,is the biggest extant cluster of buildings in Lhasa.With a history of more than 1,300 years,it is an amalgamation of the essence of Tibetan architecture,painting and religious art.In 1994 UNESCO listed the palace as a World Cultural Heritage site.
