唐代俗乐二十八调不是“琵琶调”,龟兹乐也不是“燕乐调之源”。琵琶入华不但因为自身的局限而不可作为应律乐器,更为了适应中国传统律调而变通。笙是唐俗乐二十八调的应律乐器。从《旧唐书》龟兹乐使用笙、《乐府杂录》“笙除二十八调本外,别有二十八调中管调”记载,以及巢、和二笙共应七均等等来看,热衷于琵琶,忘乎以笙是难以理清唐代俗乐二十八调的。
