As of September 2013, the province’s population and family planning system provided a total of 273,000 pre-pregnancy eugenics health checkups for the planned pregnant couples in the policy. The coverage rate of the target population reached 90.9%, completing the annual target and tasks assigned by the provincial government ahead of schedule and initially establishing the urban-rural Co-ordination of free pre-pregnancy eugenics health check mechanism, build a defensive birth defect intervention.
