Prof. Muramatsu from the Department of Pharmacy at Tokushima University of Arts and Sciences and the Collaborative Research Group of the Department of Biochemistry of the Ministry of Medicine identified human urine as a “proliferation regulator”. This “proliferation regulator” has the function of promoting the proliferation of normal cells but inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells. This factor consists of three proteins. Its molecular structure will soon be clear. “Proliferation regulators” were accidentally discovered by Professor Muramatsu and others when they were studying the extraction of effective enzymes from urine for thrombosis. This substance contained only 0.5 mg in 10 l of urine, and the 250-fold concentrated solution was added to the mouse liver cancer cell and human cervical cancer cell culture medium, and all had the effect of inhibiting proliferation. On the other hand, 0.1 ml was administered to normal cells in the same way.
