In 1983, the International Union of Railways Research Center conducted a series of tests with 20t and 22.5t axle test trains for dynamic measurement and analysis to determine various effects of an increase in axle load to 22.5t, especially the increase in orbital maintenance costs. The test consists of evaluating the vertical and horizontal forces acting on the rail as a function of speed, line direction, and orbital geometry to be compared on a test car. The results show that when the speed increases and the orbital geometry changes, the absolute growth of the wheel dynamic force, the axial load of 20t and 22.5t
